This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and processed on
studyinmd.mec.gov.md, the official information platform about higher
education in the Republic of Moldova, operated by the
Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
Who we are
The website studyinmd.mec.gov.md (“the Website”) is operated by the Ministry of
Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova (“the Ministry”, “we”, “us”),
with its registered office at Piața Marii Adunări Naționale 1, MD-2033, Chișinău,
Republic of Moldova. The Website was developed with the support of the Higher
Education in Moldova Project, financed by the World Bank.
The Ministry acts as data controller for the personal data processed through the
Website, in accordance with Law No. 133/2011 of the Republic of Moldova on the
Protection of Personal Data and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection
Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect
Data you provide to us
When you contact us through the contact form or by email, we collect the data you
choose to share with us: your name, your email address, and the content of your
message, including any information you include about your educational background
or study plans.
Data collected automatically
When you visit the Website, certain technical data is collected automatically
through cookies and similar technologies: your IP address, browser type and
version, device type, operating system, approximate location (country or city
level), referring pages, the pages you visit, and the date and duration of your
visit.
Why we process your data
- To respond to your enquiries about studying in Moldova, admission, visas, scholarships, and related topics.
- To operate and improve the Website, including measuring audience and understanding which content is most useful to prospective students.
- To ensure the security of the Website and prevent abuse.
- To fulfil our public interest mission of providing official, accurate information about higher education in the Republic of Moldova.

carried out in the public interest, your consent (for analytics cookies and when
you contact us voluntarily), and our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure

this Policy. Correspondence received through the contact form is retained for the
time needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter, in line
with the record-keeping rules applicable to public institutions. Analytics data is
retained in aggregated form.
